چکیده
This paper investigates the impacts of competition in autonomous mobility-on-demand systems. By adopting a network-flow based formulation, we first determine optimal strategies profit-maximizing platform operators monopoly and duopoly markets, including prices rides. Furthermore, characterize operator's profits consumer surplus. We show that for duopoly, equilibrium rides have to be symmetric between firms. Then, order study benefits introducing market, derive universal theoretical bounds on ratio rides, aggregate demand served, firms, surplus monopolistic duopolistic setting. discuss how consumers' firm loyalty affects each aforementioned metrics. Finally, using Manhattan network data, quantify efficacy static pricing routing policies compare it real-time model predictive policies.

Optimal Vehicle Dimensioning for Multi-Class Autonomous Electric Mobility On-Demand Systems
Autonomous electric mobility on demand (AEMoD) has recently emerged as a cyber-physical system aiming to bring automation, electrification, and on-demand services for the future private transportation market. The expected massive demand on such services and its resulting insufficient charging time/resources prohibit the use of centralized management and full vehicle charging. A fog-based multi-...
متن کاملCongestion-Aware Randomized Routing in Autonomous Mobility-on-Demand Systems
In this paper we study the routing and rebalancing problem for a fleet of autonomous vehicles providing ondemand transportation within a congested urban road network (that is, a road network where traffic speed depends on vehicle density). We show that the congestion-free routing and rebalancing problem is NP-hard and provide a randomized algorithm which finds a low-congestion solution to the r...
متن کاملManaging Autonomous Mobility on Demand Systems for Better Passenger Experience
Autonomous mobility on demand systems, though still in their infancy, have very promising prospects in providing urban population with sustainable and safe personal mobility in the near future. While much research has been conducted on both autonomous vehicles and mobility on demand systems, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first work that shows how to manage autonomous mobility on dem...
متن کاملSimulation Framework for Rebalancing of Autonomous Mobility on Demand Systems
We are observing a disruption in the urban transportation worldwide. The number of cities offering shared-use on-demand mobility services is increasing rapidly. They promise sustainable and affordable personal mobility without a burden of owning a vehicle. Despite growing popularity, on-demand services, such as carsharing, remain niche products due to small scale and rebalancing issues. We are ...
